No time to wait for your phone to charge up! Fast charging, a key feature in today’s portable devices, keeps batteries quickly topped up during busy days. However, there are various fast charging standards defined by different manufacturers. Some use high current with special cables and some use high voltage to deliver power. The USB Power Delivery (PD) is the universal fast charging standard, enabling the maximum functionality of USB by providing more flexible power delivery up to 100W (20V/5.0A) along with data transfer over a single USB Type-C cable. Since the USB cables are relatively easy to find, it operates with and builds on the existing USB ecosystem. The USB PD allows a wide range of devices to charge over a standard connection quickly and to make a connection between devices easily.

All-in-One USB PD & Bi-directional PWM Buck-Boost Controller

The RT7885 is a USB Power Delivery controller adopting Buck-Boost PWM control scheme with highly integrating functions specially for USB power bank applications. It embeds an ARM CortexTM-M0 MCU to facilitate various functions of communication protocols, protections and customized requirements. It can support charge/discharge power management of two to four multi-cell lithium ion/lithium polymer battery, input/output current/voltage regulation and battery balance management between two cells. Apart from supporting USB Type-C and PD protocol, the RT7885 can also support USB Type-A ports connected to conventional devices for various proprietary protocols.

AEC-Q100 Grade 1, Charging Port Controller and Integrated 36V 3A Sync. Buck Converter

The RTQ2115A-QA combines a charging port controller, USB 2.0 high-speed data line (D+/D-) switch and a 3A output, 3V-36V input synchronous buck converter in a WET-WQFN-32L 5x5 package. It has optional spread-spectrum frequency modulation to overcome EMI issue and complete protection functions for safe and smooth operation. Operating over the temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, it is automotive AEC-Q100 grade 1 qualified, ideal for automotive car chargers and USB power chargers.

USB PD and Programmable Power Adapters

The RT7753GCS series is the primary side PWM controller specifically designed to work with secondary side controllers, such as RT7202, to provide a total solution for the USB PD or a programmable power adapter. It provides a control scheme of high power efficiency and operates below 50mW in 5V standby mode for power saving. Equipped with comprehensive protection features, it features adaptive output power, adaptive OVP, OCP and loop gain control for stability for 9V-42V wide VDD range.

3A, 1.1V-6.5Vin, Ultra Low Noise, Ultra Low Dropout Linear Regulator

The RTQ2533W is a 1.1V-6.5V input, 0.8V-5.5V output(set by a voltage divider) or 0.8V-3.95V output (pin-selectable using a PCB layout without the need of external resistors) low-dropout linear regulator (LDO) capable of sourcing 3A with extremely low dropout (max. 180mV). Featuring 40dB@500kHz high PSRR and low noise immunity (6.8µVRMS@0.8V, 10µVRMS@3.3V), it operates in -40°C to +125°C wide temperature range. The RTQ2533W works stably with large output capacitors which makes it ideal for core devices in portable devices, wireless infrastructure etc.
