With the USB Power Delivery (USB PD) 2.0 specification, the transmission interfaces of devices such as computer monitors, notebook computers, tablets, and external hard drives can be unified. At the same time, it can provide a maximum power of 100W, further meeting the needs of various applications such as TVs and home appliances. Across a wide range of devices, there are several important details that cannot be overlooked when implementing USB PD: how to use the Device Policy Manager to keep the system operating at its optimal efficiency point; how to provide sufficient system safety protection through smooth voltage ramp-up and ramp-down transitions; and how to effectively manage signal interference caused by EMC or handle errors during power delivery. This video presents system examples and illustrated explanations for different devices in a clear and accessible way.
