RT8004A为高效率的同步整流降压型DC/DC转换器，输入电压范围从2.7V至5.5V，输出可调范围0.8V至5V，输出电流至4.5A。
内建具低导通阻抗75mΩ的功率开关，增进了整体效率并减少了需要外加萧特基二极管的必要性。切换频率可由外部电阻进行设计或由外部时序讯号进行同步操作。藉由近100%责任周期的操作提供了低压差转换的应用可有效延长掌上型装置的电池使用寿命。外部的补偿机制可因应大范围的输出电容与负载变化的瞬时响应进行优化的补偿。
RT8004A强制操作在连续的PWM模式，大幅降低电压涟波值与RF噪声所造成的干扰。
