RT7790 专为搭配 RT7208E 等控制器而设计，可提供完整的 USB PD（Power Delivery）或可编程电源适配器（Programmable Power Adapter）解决方案。 RT7790 集成双向控制功能，可通过脉冲变压器向 RT7208E 发送零电压开关（ZVS）脉冲信号，并接收反馈脉冲信号以调节输出电压和输出电流。因此，RT7790 可通过一次侧 MOSFET 的 ZVS 工作实现高转换效率，同时降低高输入电压条件下 MOSFET 的工作温度。 RT7790 具备多项创新系统控制功能，可支持宽范围输出电压设计。其中一项创新功能为 DMAG 引脚，可检测输出电压并自动调整控制环路增益以保持系统稳定性，同时调节电流限制以满足限制功率源（LPS, Limited Power Source）安全规范要求。 RT7790 同时内置完善的保护功能，包括大电容输入欠压启动/关断保护（Bulk-Capacitor Brown-In/Brown-Out Protection）、VDD 过压保护（VDD OVP）、输出过压/欠压保护（Output OVP/UVP）、同步整流器短路保护（SRSP, Secondary Rectifier Short-Circuit Protection）以及外部过温保护（External OTP）。 在恒功率输出应用中，可通过在电流检测电阻与 CS 引脚之间连接补偿电阻，实现全输入电压范围内的精确线性补偿（Line Compensation）。此外，RT7790 还提供多种保护机制，以防止次级侧元件故障所导致的系统异常。 在实际应用中，RT7790 搭配次级控制器 RT7208E 使用，可实现稳健且安全的电源设计，有效避免因不同设备、线缆、插头及插座错误连接而产生的各种潜在故障情况。
