RT8856 是整合了两组 MOSFET 驱动器的单/双相 PWM 控制器，符合 Intel 的 IMVP6.5 电压调节器规格，可用于满足移动 CPU 内核的供电需求。RT8856采用了立锜专有的基于有限直流增益补偿峰值电流模式的 NAVP™(Native AVP) 控制技术，使之成为一款易于使用的 PWM 控制器，可满足所有 Intel AVP（Active Voltage Positioning）移动 CPU 的需要。RT8856 的输出电压由7位的 VID 码进行设定，内建的高精度 DAC 以 12.5mV 的电压级差将 VID 码转换为 0V~1.5V 的电压，控制器的系统精度可达1.5%。支持 VID 动态改变和模式的动态改变功能，完全符合 IMVP6.5 的规范要求。它可工作在单相、双相和 RFM 模式，可根据不同的负载条件工作在不同的模式下，效率可达90%。通过对误差放大器直流增益的设定，负载线特性可以很容易地进行调整。通过使用适当的补偿，负载瞬态响应特性可优化 AVP 性能。通过使用一只电容，软启动和输出转移速率即可得到调整。同时支持 DCR 和电阻电流检测两种方式。电流模式 NAVP™ 控制架构和高精度电流检测放大器的结合可以很好地平衡通道电流。RT8856 提供了电源准备好信号、时钟使能和热调节输出信号以符合 IMVP6.5 的要求，同时还有完整的故障保护功能，其中包括过压、欠压、负压、过流、热关机保护功能和欠压锁定功能。RT8856 的封装是 WQFN-40L 6x6 。
