RT8016为高效率脉波宽度调变(PWM)的降压型 DC/DC 转换器。输入范围2.5V 至5.5V时，输出电流可达1A。可借由外部电阻调整输出电压1V 至3.3V，调整间距0.1V，适用于由单一锂电池供电的可携式电子装置，例如行动电话、PDA与掌上型装置。RT8016提供了两种操作模式:PWM/低压降自动切换模式与关机模式。内部的低R<sub>DS(ON)</sub>同步整流元件降低了操作在PWM模式的的导通损耗，且不需外加萧特基二极体于实际设计中。RT8016当PWM操作时无法连续导通上端P-MOSFET时，进入低压降模式。当EN脚位为低电位时，进入关机模式，消耗电流小于0.1μA。由于操作在固定频率1.5MHz，可由较小封装的元件进行滤波设计得到较平滑的切换涟波。采用WDFN-6L 2x2的小型封装可应用于较小的PCB面积设计中。其它的特色中包括缓启动、具2%精确率的内部低参考电压、过温保护与过电流保护等机制。
