RT8179A 是符合 AMD SV12 电压调节器规范的、可为 CPU 内核（VDD）和北桥（ VDDNB）部分供电的双输出 PWM 控制器，它采用了立锜专有的固定电流涟波固定导通时间 (Constant Current Ripple Constant On-Time，CCRCOT)的 G-NAVP(Green-Native AVP，绿能原生自我调整电压定位)技术，使之成为符合 AMD AVP（Adative Voltage Positioning) VDD/VDDNB 需求的、易于使用的控制器。通过对其误差放大器直流增益的设定可以很容易地调整其电压下降特性；借助适当的补偿，其负载瞬变回应特性可优化其 AVP 性能。该控制器可通过控制介面向 CPU 发送 VOTF完成 (Voltage On-The-Fly Complet) 资讯和 VDD/VDDNB 的电压/电流资料编码资讯。它可工作在二极体模拟模式，在不同的负载条件下用不同的模式工作，可使其转换效率达到90%以上。RT8179A提供了很多端子用于特定的偏移量设定，还提供了电源准备好指示信号、过流指示信号以及两种过流保护机制，完善的故障保护功能亦包含其中，如过压保护、欠压保护和负压保护。
