RT8204A 是用于笔记型电脑中将电池高电压转换为低压 CPU 内核、I/O 、晶片组和记忆体所使用的电源的 PWM 控制器，其转化效率高，输出电压精度高，具有卓越的瞬态回应特性。它所采用的固定导通时间 PWM 控制架构赋予其在维持相对固定的工作频率情况下在宽阔的输入/输出电压比下自由运作的能力，并且能在负载发生瞬态变化时具有 100ns 的即时回应能力。RT8204A 抛弃了传统电流模式 PWM 控制器中使用电阻进行电流检测的方式，降低了成本，提高了效率。由于具备驱动大功率同步整流 MOSFET 的能力，其效率也得到了改善。其 Buck 架构容许将很高的电池电压直接转换为系统需要的电压也对效率提升做出了贡献。RT8204A 可为 CPU 内核、晶片组、DRAM 和其它低压系统提供低达 0.75V 的电源 。一个内建的低压差线性控制器可驱动外部 MOSFET 提供第二组输出电压，其电源可以来自 PWM 输出或是其它电源。其输出电压可以低达 0.75V，其最高输出电压则决定于 MOSFET 的选择。精度为±1.5%的 0.75V 内部参考电压使输出电压具有很高的稳定度。RT8204A 的其它功能还包括独立的使能控制、开漏输出的电源准备好信号、欠压保护和软启动等，这些功能使得 RT8204A 成为面对不同应用时的友好选择之一。RT8204A 的封装是 WQFN-16L 3x3 。
