RT8228B 是用于将笔记型电脑电池高电压转换为低压为 CPU 内核、I/O 介面、晶片组和 RAM 供电的 PWM 控制器，具有转换效率高、瞬态回应特性好、输出电压精度高等特性，它所采用的固定导通时间控制架构能够很好地应对输入、输出电压比很宽的环境，能对负载瞬态变化提供 100ns 级的快速回应，同时还能维持相对恒定的工作频率。<br>RT8228B 因弃用传统电流模式控制架构里的电流检测电阻而提高了效率，降低了成本，也因提高了大型 MOSFET 同步整流开关的驱动能力并在轻载时进入二极体模拟模式而提高了效率，可将电池高电压直接转换为最低达 0.5V 的电压供 CPU 内核、晶片组、DRAM 或其他低压电路使用，其封装形式为 WQFN-12L 2x2。
