RT8509是高性能的开关模式Boost转换器，目的是为动态矩阵薄膜电晶体液晶显示幕提供稳定的电源供应。它采用电流模式控制架构、固定工作频率的脉宽调制（PWM）电路，集成了N-MOSFET开关，转换效率高，瞬态回应速度快。其输入电压范围为2.8V~14V，使用外接电阻分压器进行调节的输出电压最高达24V，最大峰值电流限制典型值为3.5A，具有可调软起动、过压保护、过热保护等特性。其封装为WDFN-10L 3x3。
