RT8966H 是一款类比子系统，于单一 mini/micro USB 连接器上整合线性充电器、4 个 LDO、4 通道电流源，以及用于 USB、UART、麦克风、立体声与音讯的多工器。RT8966H 采用 I<sup>2</sup>C 汇流排进行控制，并使用内部方法判断所连接的装置。USB 输入提供高速 USB 连接。音讯输入具备负电源轨讯号运作，可实现简易的 DC 耦合耳机喇叭。RT8966H 透过使用 USB ID 讯号脚位与 VBUS 电压，提供内部装置侦测方法。电阻值与 VBUS 电压决定每个配件的唯一侦测方式。主机微处理器采用 I<sup>2</sup>C 控制开关位置，并读取配件侦测结果。RT8966H 亦可侦测 USB 充电器，包括专用充电器（D+/D- 短路）以及高功率主机 / 集线器充电器。RT8966H 具备线性充电器，最大电流能力为 1A。充电电流与充电终止电流可透过 I<sup>2</sup>C 介面控制。它亦提供 50mA LDO，以支援周边电路的电源。在工厂模式下，RT8966H 提供 4.35V/2.3A 电源，以支援系统运作。RT8966H 采用薄型 WQFN-32L 4x4 封装，可实现针对 PCB 空间与散热考量最佳化的解决方案。
