RT9173B 是设计用于将 1.7V 至 6V 范围内的输入电压转换为由两只外部电阻构成的分压器所设定的输出电压的转换器，其输出具有释出或吸入 2A 电流的能力以维持输出电压在设定值的 40mV 误差范围内。RT9173B 通常被用于和一系列终端电阻连接在一起，为那些高速记忆体汇流排和分散式主机板的设计提供动态终端匹配用的优质电压源，作为 DDR SDRAM 的终端匹配电压源是其最常见的用法。由于同时具有释出电流和吸入电流的限制，再加上内置的热关断功能，使它具有输出故障情况下的容忍能力。RT9173B 可以常用的5引脚 TO-252 封装 SOP-8 封装形式供货。在 SOP-8 封装中，多个 V<sub>CNTL</sub> 引脚在内部被连接在一起，这一措施大大降低了热阻。
