RT9427 是作为微处理器外设而存在的锂离子/聚合物电池电量计，可为其提供单节电池包的电量资讯，一般安装在系统主机板上对可移除或不可移除的电池进行管理。</br>RT9427 采用带有电流补偿的 Voltaic Gauge 演算法，通过电池两极之间的电压差和开路电压对电池荷电状态（SOC）的增减进行计算再加上电流资讯进行补偿来得到 SOC，可报告电池的荷电状态（StateOfCharge）、健康状态（StateOfHealth）、充满容量（FullChargeCapacity）、耗尽时间（TimeToEmpty）和使用回圈数（CycleCount）等资讯。</br>电流补偿的 Voltaic Gauge 演算法得到的 SOC 资讯是平滑变化的，不存在时间和电流导致的累计误差，相比饱受电流检测误差和电池自放电导致误差之苦的库仑计算法具有优势。</br>RT9427 能对电池状态进行全面监控，同时具有中断报警功能，能在电池出现过压、欠压、过热、过流等状态时向系统处理器发出警告资讯。在高充电速率的应用中，它所采用的开尔文连接能消除 IR 压差所导致的电池电压测量误差，优化充电过程，提高安全性。
