RT9986A 是为数位相机和其他掌上型设备供电的完整电源解决方案，它包含了1路含有负载关断开关的同步升压型 DC/DC 转换器、1路可选择为升压或降压的同步架构 DC/DC 转换器、2路同步降压型 DC/DC转换器、1路输出高压的同步升压型 DC/DC 转换器、1路反相型 DC/DC 转换器和1路可选择为同步升压或是电流源的 WLED 驱动器。此外，RT9986A还含有一个供RTC电路使用的低压差线性稳压器、一个电压检测器和一组系统重定电路。为了降低元件数量、降低整体成本，RT9986A 将所有功率 MOSFET 都集成在单一晶片之中。</br>RT9986A 在设计上按照数位相机的需求进行如下的资源配置：</br>CH1 的同步升压输出为马达或系统的 I/O 部分供电；</br>CH2 可根据马达或系统 I/O 部分的需要将电路设定为升压或是降压架构；</br>CH3/4 的同步降压输出用于为 DSP 内核和记忆体部分供电；</br>CH5 同步升压电路的高压输出为 CCD 的偏置部分供电；</br>CH6 的反相输出为负电压，它为 CCD 提供负偏压 ；</br>CH7 可根据显示幕背光源的 WLED 配置设置为高压输出或电流源输出。</br>可选择为升压或降压的转换器的架构选择时自动完成的，这由外部元件的不同电路架构决定。RT9986A 的7个 DC/DC 通道都内建了补偿电路，为 CCD 供电的电路也无需使用变压器，所有低压输出的升压或降压转换器的转换效率都可高达95%。</br>RT9986A 在设计上提供了完善的保护功能，其中包括过流保护、热关机保护、过压保护、超载保护和欠压保护。
