RT8082為高效率的同步降壓型 DC/DC 轉換器，輸入電壓範圍從2.7V至5.5V，可調的輸出電壓範圍1V至5V，輸出電流可達3A。內建的同步低導通阻的功率開關，增進了整體效率並減少了需要外加蕭特基二極體的必要性。由於固定操作在頻率2MHz，由開關切換產生的電壓漣波成分可輕易地由小型封裝的濾波元件濾除。近100%的責任週期操作允許輸出低壓降轉換，適用於電池做為輸入電源的可攜式系統。電流模式架構與外部的補償機制可因應大範圍的輸出電容與負載變化的暫態回應進行優化的補償。RT8082強制操作在PWM模式，以有效減少漣波電壓大小並降低雜訊與RF所造成的干擾。
