RT8290 為高效率的同步降壓型DC/DC轉換器，輸入電壓範圍從4.5V至23V，輸出電流至3A。RT8290的電流模式架構與外部的補償機制可因應大範圍的輸出電容與負載變化的暫態響應進行最佳化的補償。逐週期形式的限流機制可在輸出短路時提供電路保護作用，緩啟動機制則可消除啟動瞬間的輸入電流湧浪的問題。此外RT8290提供輸出低電壓保護與過熱關機保護功能，低電流(<3µA)的關機模式則可斷開與輸出的連接，實現簡易的電池供電系統中的電源管理。實現簡易的電池供電系統中的電源管理。RT8290採用SOP-8(裸露焊盤)的封裝規格。
