RT7790GBQ 專為搭配 RT7208E 等控制器而設計，可提供完整的 USB PD（Power Delivery）或可程式化電源供應器（Programmable Power Adapter）解決方案。 RT7790GBQ 整合雙向控制功能，可透過脈衝變壓器向 RT7208E 傳送零電壓切換（ZVS）脈衝訊號，並接收回授脈衝訊號以調節輸出電壓與輸出電流。因此，RT7790GBQ 可藉由一次側 MOSFET 的 ZVS 操作達成高轉換效率，並降低高輸入電壓條件下 MOSFET 的工作溫度。 RT7790GBQ 具備多項創新的系統控制功能，可支援寬範圍輸出電壓設計。其中一項創新功能為 DMAG 腳位，可感測輸出電壓並自動調整控制迴路增益以維持系統穩定性，同時調整電流限制以符合限制功率來源（LPS, Limited Power Source）安全規範要求。 RT7790GBQ 同時內建完整保護功能，包括大電容輸入欠壓啟動/關機保護（Bulk-Capacitor Brown-In/Brown-Out Protection）、VDD 過壓保護（VDD OVP）、輸出過壓/欠壓保護（Output OVP/UVP）、同步整流器短路保護（SRSP, Secondary Rectifier Short-Circuit Protection）以及外部過溫保護（External OTP）。 在定功率輸出應用中，可透過於電流感測電阻與 CS 腳位之間連接補償電阻，實現全輸入電壓範圍下的精準線路補償（Line Compensation）。此外，RT7790GBQ 還提供多種保護機制，以防止次級側元件故障所造成的系統異常。 實際應用中，RT7790GBQ 搭配次級控制器 RT7208E 使用，可實現穩健且安全的電源設計，有效避免因不同裝置、線材、插頭及插座錯誤連接而產生的各種潛在故障情況。
