RT8540 是一個高效的同步 Boost 轉換器，具備輸出最大 1.5A 電流的能力，可驅動多達3只 LED，是單節鋰離子/聚合物電池供電的閃光燈應用的理想選擇。RT8540 通過切換內部上下橋電晶體開關維持輸出電流的穩定，這些開關以 2MHz 的固定頻率進行 PWM 切換，容許使用小型電感和輸出電容，使之成為小型電池供電應用的優選。它含有 STRB0、STRB1 和 Tx-MASK 輸入以簡化手電筒和閃光燈與攝像模組之間的同步問題，其預設的計時器可被用於在用戶可程式設計的延時以後終止一次閃光事件，或是作為一個安全特性被使用。它可根據電池電壓條件自動優化 LED 閃光電流預算。RT8540 不僅作為一個額定電流源那樣工作，它也可以作為具備降低輸出電壓能力的升壓穩壓器那樣工作。它含有過壓保護、過流保護能力，並且含有熱管理系統對器件進行保護。當它處於關機狀態時，電流消耗低於 1μA。其封裝為 WL-CSP-20B 1.82x2.22(BSC)。
