RT8802A 是2/3/4/5相同步 Buck 控制器，專門為 Intel<sup>®</sup> / AMD 下一代微處理器供電而設計。它使用了內建的8位元 DAC 用於轉換來自微處理器的 VID 編碼為輸出電壓，該 VID 編碼與輸出電壓之間的對應關係與 Intel<sup>®</sup> VRD10.x 和 VRD11 內核電源所定義的資料是一致的，其級間電壓差為 6.25mV ，精度為0.5%。RT8802A 採用了創新的時分 DCR 電流檢測技術對各相電流進行檢測並實施電流平衡操作、負載線設定和過流保護，其中採用了公用放大器來檢測各項電流，使得採用多個放大器的傳統電流檢測方法中的放大器之間的偏移誤差和線性不一致性得到消除。由於現代的主機板普遍使用了低於毫歐級的電感，小小的偏移和線性不一致性即可導致可觀的相間電流不平衡，這種技術可確保大規模量產中的很好的電流平衡效果。RT8802A 的設計中還包含了多種其它特性，如過流保護、可程式設計軟起動、過壓保護和輸出偏移量設定等。其封裝為 VQFN-40L 6x6 。
