RT8812A 是針對高性能影像處理器和電腦應用的3/2/1相同步 Buck 架構 PWM 控制器，它將固定導通時間(COT) PWM 控制器、兩組包含自舉二極體的 MOSFET 驅動器、電流平衡電路和諸如過壓保護、欠壓保護、電流限制和熱關機保護等眾多的保護功能集成于單一的 WQFN-20L 3x3 的封裝中，還採用了通過 R<sub>DS(ON)</sub> 進行的電流檢測技術。它的電流限制是通過連續電感電流檢測技術實現的，而通過 R<sub>DS(ON)</sub> 進行的電流檢測則用於精準的電流平衡操作。RT8812A 通過對回饋電壓的調節並使之跟蹤外部輸入的參考電壓來進行穩壓操作，還使用了 PWM-VID 動態輸出電壓控制技術來生成外部參考電壓供自身使用，實現了通過調節 PWM 信號的責任週期即可改變其輸出電壓的效果。除此以外，它還支援可調的工作頻率、動態相數控制、內/外部軟啟動、電源狀態指示、使能等功能。
