RT8859A 是符合 VR12/IMVP7 規範的 CPU 供電控制器，其中包含兩部分：一個4/3/2/1 相同步 Buck 控制器，用於生成內核電源；一個單相 Buck 控制器，用於生成 GFX 電源。它採用立錡專有的基於有限增益補償器的電流模式控制架構的 G-NAVP™ (Green Native AVP) 控制技術，該技術使之成為一個易於使用的 PWM 控制器以符合 Intel CPU 所需要的 AVP (Active Voltage Positioning) 要求。在G-NAVP™ 的基礎上，RT8859A 擁有快速回應機制以在負載瞬變期間優化 AVP 性能。RT8859A 支援不同工作狀態下的模式轉換功能。一個內建的串列 VID (SVID)介面可用於與 Intel VR12/IMVP7 相容的 CPU 進行通訊， RT8859A 以三種不同電壓/電流 變動率支援 VID 動態改變功能：快速、慢速和自然變換。利用 G-NAVP™ 控制技術，RT8859A的工作頻率即使在 CCM 模式下也可以根據 VID、負載和輸入電壓的不同自動調節以提高效率。內建的高精度 DAC 轉換器可以 5mV 的電壓級差將 VID 碼轉換為 0.25V~1.52V 的輸出電壓，還有一個高精度的 ADC 轉換器可用於平臺功能設定，無負載時的偏壓 和過流幅值即可通過它進行設定。RT8859A 的核心電壓調節器和GFX電壓調節器在輸出準備好以後也會有信號指示輸出，它還包含了完整的故障保護功能，如過壓、欠壓、負壓、過流和欠壓鎖定等保護功能都包含在內。RT8859A 的封裝是 WQFN-56L 7x7 。
