60nA ultra-low quiescent current
Enabling true long-life always on devices

Even before shipment, wearable devices already operate in a standby state and continue to consume power. For both standby and Always On applications, the hidden factor that determines battery life is quiescent current. Variations in battery life are driven by power consumed over long standby periods, rather than by short term peak loads. When selecting power solutions for wearable applications, the following key characteristics should therefore be carefully considered.
|
Long battery life enabled by ultra-low quiescent current
Using a 200mAh coin cell as an example, the RT5717 with a quiescent current of just 60nA consumes only 2.5% of battery capacity over 87,600 hours (ten years) of standby operation. Ultra-low power is therefore not merely a specification but a quantifiable battery life advantage.

|
Fast transient response for stable output
Real world operation often occurs in an instant, requiring the power supply to respond immediately to load changes. The RT5717 adopts the RBCOT (Ripple Based Constant on Time) control architecture, using output voltage ripple as feedback to react instantly to load transients and maintain stable regulation.
|
High efficiency in both standby and active modes
Extending battery life requires not only low standby consumption but also high efficiency. The RT5717 maintains efficiency above 80% at 1µA light load and exceeds 90% efficiency at 1A output, delivering superior overall performance compared with equivalent competing solutions.
|
Designed for compact and portable applications
Optimized for space constrained designs such as true wireless earbuds, smartwatches, asset trackers, smart meters, electronic locks, wireless security cameras and ultra-wideband positioning systems. CSP and WDFN package options provide greater layout flexibility for small form factor designs. Sixteen selectable output voltage options from 0.5 V to 4 V support low voltage SoCs, sensors and more.
