Smart Cockpit Display Systems: Delivering Efficient and Stable Automotive SoC Power Solutions
As smart cockpit systems evolve, in vehicle display architectures are shifting towards higher resolution, multi display integration and increased computing demands. Automotive displays are no longer simple interfaces but have become central platforms that integrate infotainment, human machine interaction and real time system control. A complete automotive display power system typically consists of 3 key parts:
• SoC power supply: supports image processing, touch input and core computation.
• LED backlight driver: provides stable illumination for LCD panels.
• TFT LCD panel power: delivers multiple bias voltages required for panel operation.
These systems are typically powered by a 12V automotive battery or regulated 5V and 3.3V power rails. As the core of the display system, the SoC requires multiple low voltage rails while addressing higher computing demands, tighter space constraints, increased efficiency requirements and automotive grade reliability.
To address these requirements, Richtek introduces the RTQ2183, an automotive grade synchronous buck converter in a compact WET-VDFN-8J2L 2 × 1.5(FC) package:
AEC Q100 qualified: Designed to meet stringent automotive reliability standards. |
ACOT control with up to 90% efficiency: Supports 5.5V input and 3A output for SoC core power rails. |
2.4MHz high frequency operation: Reduces external component size and improves PCB space. |
As a new addition to Richtek’s automotive portfolio, the RTQ2183 supports 3A applications, expanding power solutions for stable and reliable next generation smart cockpit designs.
