RT8576A 是 4 通道 LED 驅動器，每個通道具備 120mA 的 驅動能力。它採用電流模式的 Boost 轉換器進行升壓，該轉換器的工作頻率可用 RT 引腳在 100kHz-1MHz 間進行調節，輸入電壓範圍在 9V-28V 之間。
Boost 轉換器的控制回路自動根據工作電壓最高的 LED 串的需要選擇並調節其輸出電壓，因而容許各 LED 串有不同的工作電壓。當 LED 串存在任何未連接或斷開的故障時，控制回路可自動檢測到並斷開其輸出，因而可以避免過壓狀態的發生。
各 LED 串間的電流可用一隻電阻進行設定，串與串間的不一致性在 1.5% 以內，通過在 PWM 引腳輸入 PWM 信號可對各 LED 串的電流進行調節。
當有過壓保護、短路或過熱等異常狀態發生時，有狀態信號可被發送給系統，系統可使 RT8576A 進入關機狀態。
